School Closures around the Coastal Bend

 

 

Corpus Christi ISD:

Students in CCISD schools will not be returning to class anytime soon as their Spring Break has been extended once again. This time the decision has been made to try and start up schools again on April 14.

  • King High School, 5225 Gollihar Road
  • Miller High School, 1 Battlin Buc Blvd.
  • Moody High School, 1818 Trojan Drive
  • Ray High School, 1002 Texan Trail
  • Veterans Memorial High School, 3750 Cimarron Blvd.

Alice ISD:

The district will be closed from March 23 to April 3rd.

Annapolis Christian Academy:

In person classes will be suspended until April 3rd.

Aransas County ISD:

Students and staff will return to campuses on April 14.

District leaders will use the week of April 6 to decide whether to extend the closure, according to a letter sent to parents.

Bishop CISD

Bishop CISD is moving to online instruction for all students.

It should not be seen as a vacation or extension of spring break, parents will receive a call with more details about student instruction, food service and more.

Calallen ISD:

The district will be closed from March 23 to April 13. All extracurricular activities, practices and athletic events are suspended.

The Diocese of Corpus Christi:

All Texas Catholic schools will continue temporary closure until April 3rd.

Dr. M. L. Garza-Gonzalez Charter School:

The school is closed for the rest of the school year. Students will continue instruction at home with material provided by teachers.

Flour Bluff ISD:

The district will be closed through April 3rd.

Classes will resume Monday, April 6th.

Gregory-Portland ISD:

The District plans to resume normal operations with students returning to classrooms on April 14th and teachers/staff returning April 13th.

Kingsville ISD:

Kingsville ISD will remain closed for both students and staff through April 16th.

Premont ISD:

Closed until further notice. Students should complete schoolwork from home.

Robstown ISD:

The district will be closed through Monday, April 13.

School of Science and Technology:

The school is closed through April 10.

Administration will evaluate on April 6 whether to prolong the closure.

Taft ISD:

The district will be closed until April 14.

Staff will return on April 14, and students will return April 15.

Odem ISD:

Odem ISD will be closed until April 14th

Tuloso-Midway ISD

Closed until further notice, pending board approval.

West Oso ISD:

West Oso ISD also is closing until April 14. Teachers and staff will report to their campuses/departments on April 13. Students will return to school the following day.

 

College/University

Del Mar College:

The college will be closed through April 13.

Campus buildings, classrooms and offices will be closed.

Online courses will continue as usual, a Facebook post by the college said, while most face-to-face courses will transition into an online setting by March 30.

Texas A&M University-Corpus Christi:

Classes will be online for the rest of the semester.

The campus will remain open. Housing, health, library and food services will continue operating.

Texas A&M University-Kingsville:

All lecture courses and labs will be online for the rest of the semester.

The school will offer virtual tutoring and advising. The campus will remain open, including residence halls, food service, computer labs and the library.
